hot flashes news in flames

IN FLAMES have posted the following report:

"Last weekend in Örebro, Sweden, (May 9th) a football (soccer) battle took place. 8 teams with members from the biggest metal bands in Sweden fought of the glory of becoming the winner of the 1st Metallsvenskan tournament.

Fighting for the glory from the In Flames camp/Gothenburg was FC Glenn, with members from In Flames, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, EVERGREY, TIAMAT and ENGEL.

Unfortunately Peter Iwers and Niclas Engelin from the original FC Glenn quad could not participate on the day of the tournament and a replacement in the shape of Adam Gelotte, brother of Björn Gelotte, had to be brought in. Peter and Niclas are soon to be back in training for next year’s battle though.

The FC Glenn Squad for Metallsvenskan 2009 in the end looked like this:

Daniel Svensson - In Flames

Björn Gelotte - In Flames

Vic Zino - Hardcore Superstar

Jonas Ekdahl - Evergrey

Anders Iwers - Tiamat

Tive - In Flames Management

Adam Gelotte

Biffen - Coach

Piffen - Driver

Jim - Physiotherapist

FC Glenn strolled through the group stage undefeated. Vic Zino proved to be the top goal scorer in the team and also ended on top in the overall top scoring table.

In The Semi final, HEAT were beaten and in the final Örebro United awaited. FC Glenn fairly easily beat this very team in the group stage, but with a joker (in the shape of an ex-Inter Milan pro) who turned up half way into the day, it proved too much for the Gothenburg team.

FC Glenn finished 2nd and the team is already looking forward to the revenge next year.
