hot flashes news inner sanctvm

Legendary Uruguay-based metallers INNER SANCTVM have checked in with the following update:

"Even though we CLEARLY stated it in our official MySpace , we have received TONS of E-mails asking if are we the same band (INNER SANCTUM) that released the Frozen Souls album in the '90s.

We really don't understand, if people are getting into the MySpace, seeing the entire Frozen Souls album streaming at the player, and a clear explanation at the MySpace's blog, how come that they are wondering if this is the same band or not!!!

INNER SANCTVM = INNER SANCTUM FROM URUGUAY!!!

Now we'll explain some odd issue, when we were working to re-start the band, we were contacted by the lawyer of one of the Inner Sanctum's bands that are playing around nowadays, and told us that they had trademarked the name so we should STOP using or trying to use the name from that moment on.

Our Inner Sanctum was disbanded for several years so there was not even any attempt to renew the trademark from our side, so now the name legally belongs to another band.

We asked a lawyer and people related to trademarks and we were told that we could try to get the name back and such, but that will involve a lot of extra-musical effort (and money) that we are not able to do or spend.

Just some months ago the Norwegian band GORGOROTH went through something like this, the founder of the band went to court and got his rights back, but the difference is that he counted with the back up of a label like (Swedish) Regain Records, and we are just looking for a new label right now, producing, recording and financing this entire new comeback album by ourselves, so you can imagine that we weren't that interested on getting ourselves into a situation like having to deal with something like that, and having to cover the expenses from our pockets as well.

Why didn't we look for a label before recording this new album??? Well, by the same reason we didn't look by a new singer before finishing the album musically, we want to create this album the best and faster way as possible, and to do so we needed the independence to do it the way we wanted, and then to license it to some interested label.

Our band got extremely good reviews in the '90s, we don't want to screw-up everything with a new shitty comeback, we want this new album to be a blast and we are quite sure it will, and this will be under the Inner Sanctvm banner, but now you now, we are the same band, so please don't be stupid and READ the information at our MySpace before asking."
