As previously reported, EMI UK will release ‘Rainmaker’ as a single on Monday, November 24th.
‘Rainmaker’, written by Dave Murray, Steve Harris and Bruce Dickinson, will be released in three special formats, with exclusive bonus tracks. The tracklistings:
CD Single: ‘Rainmaker’, ‘Dance of Death’ (orchestral version) and ‘More Tea Vicar’.
DVD Single: ‘Rainmaker’ promotional video (5.1 & DTS), ‘The Wicker Man’ (live), ‘Children Of The Damned’ (live) and video stills slide show.
7” coloured vinyl: ‘Rainmaker’ and ‘Dance of Death’ (orchestral version).
The DVD single features the dramatic promotional video directed by Howard Greenhalgh, which was shot at London’s Roundhouse in Camden in September. Howard also directed the animated promotional video for their top 10 single debut single, ‘Wildest Dreams’. ‘More Tea Vicar’, featured on the CD Single, is an amusing jamming session caught on tape whilst the band were recording the album. The B Sides ‘The Wicker Man’ and ‘Children Of The Damned’ were both recorded live at last years Brixton shows in aid of former drummer Clive Blurr.
The release of ‘Rainmaker’ heralds Maiden’s final national arena tour. Starting at The Point, Dublin on December 1st, Iron Maiden will play to over 100,000 fans in the British Isles, with rising heroes FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND in support. The dates are as follows:
December
3 - Newcastle Telewest Arena, UK4 – Nottingham Arena, UK
6 – Sheffield Arena, UK
7 – Glasgow SECC, UK
9 – Manchester MEN Arena, UK
12 – London, Earls Court, UK
15 – Cardiff Arena, UK
16 – Birmingham NEC, UK
These dates, along with the preceding summer shows, will see the band play to almost a million fans in Europe alone in the last six months of this year. The Dance Of Death Tour continues into South America, Japan and South East Asia next year. Thereafter, as previously announced, Iron Maiden will then cut back on their touring schedule, and instead of playing extensive arena dates, will mainly appear at major festivals around the world.
