Guitarists JEFF LOOMIS (ex-NEVERMORE) and Chris Broderick (MEGADETH) have both donated guitars to be auctioned off in benefit of the JASON BECKER Not Dead Yet Foundation

Jason Becker first gained recognition part of the metal duo CACOPHONY with Marty Friedman (ex-Megadeth) in the late ’80s. Both shredders were premier players on prestigious Shrapnel label along with other virtuosos such as PAUL GILBERT, VINNIE MOORE and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN. Becker succeeded STEVE VAI in DAVID LEE ROTH’s band. Becker was featured on Roth’s 1991 release, A Little Ain’t Enough, but he was unable to participate in the tour due to being diagnosed with ALS—aka Lou Gehrig's Disease. He was just 20 years old. He was given three to five years to live. Although the disease eventually left him both paralyzed and unable to speak, it’s now more than 20 years later and Jason Becker is Not Dead Yet!

Megadeth’s Chris Broderick was very kind and generous to donate this custom painted Ibanez guitar, autographed by all Megadeth band members (Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson, Shawn Drover, and Chris himself). This guitar was used to record Megadeth’s Endgame, and was played by Chris on important tours. Further details at this location.

Jeff Loomis donated this beautiful, autographed 7-string Schecter Signature guitar. It was used to record Nevermore’s Obsidian Conspiracy 2010 album on the Century Media label.

This guitar donated by Jeff will be auctioned via eBay. More details will be posted as soon as they are available.
