Iceland Review Online is reporting that BON JOVI frontman, Jon Bon Jovi, iss currently in Iceland with his family, recovering from a knee surgery. He arrived in the country last weekend and is planning to stay for one week.
The singer was spotted having lunch at the restaurant Silfur in Hotel Borg in Reykjavík yesterday and at the bar Íslenski barinn in the afternoon, Fréttabladid reports.
RockAAA.com recently caught up with Bon Jovi's head roadie, New Jersey-born Mike Savas, to discuss life on the road and working on one of the world's biggest travelling rock shows. Check out the video interview at this location.
As previously reported, Bon Jovi paid tribute to the E STREET BAND's saxophone player Clarence Clemons on Sunday night in Denmark with a performance of the Bruce Springsteen classic, 'Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out'. Footage is available below.
Clemons suffered a stroke on June 12th and passed away on June 18th. He was 69 years old.
Following is Jon Bon Jovi's intro to their tribute to The Big Man:
“A long way from here, back in our home state of New Jersey, we lost a pillar of the rock n roll community today. Woke up to hear that Clarence Clemons of the E Street Band had passed. The Big Man had gone up to heaven to play for the Big Man upstairs.
The only thing bigger in stature and status was probably the size of the guy’s heart. He was always kind, always had a kind thing to say, no matter if we were going to see them or he was coming to see us. The Big Man will be missed forever. But the legend of the E Street Band with Clarence Clemons will always live on."
Jon Bon Jovi followed up with a message on Facebook:
"It was important to us to honor our friend Clarence Clemons. His passing is a sad loss and we wanted to honor him, his bandmates and his many friends. Our performance of 'Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out' was from all of us."
