Idolator.com is reporting:

KISS’ Wal-Mart-only album Sonic Boom arrived in outlets of the Arkansas-based megachain this week, and the displays that were stocked with Kiss-branded items like M & Ms, blankets, and Mr. Potato Heads have apparently enticed shoppers into buying the two-CD, single-DVD set: Hits is predicting that between 150,000 and 175,000 of the sets will be bought by die-hard KISS fans by close of business on Sunday.

As reported yesterday, it appears that KISS fans in Canada will be missing all the cool marketing gimmicks surrounding the release of the band's new album, Sonic Boom. To complement this highly-anticipated music release, over 2800 Walmart stores are featuring KISS Korners in their electronics departments and Halloween aisles. The KISS Korners offer KISS t-shirts, wigs, makeup, blankets, limited edition KISS M&M; candies, KISS Mr. Potato Head spuds, and of course the Sonic Boom CD set.

BraveWords.com checked out a number of Walmart locations in the greater Toronto area and not one had a KISS Korner. In fact there was little, if any advertising for the record at all! The pricing is still decent - $13.99 Canadian for the set. But you'll have to cross the border to get the swag attached to the Sonic Boom.
