Finnish metallers LEVERAGE are currently at work on their third album. The follow-up to two highly acclaimed albums (Tides and Blind Fire) will be released by Spinefarm Records in the fall of 2009.

The band have issued the following studio diary from drummer Valtteri Revonkorpi:

"Okay, this one starts a bit late because we already recorded drums over a week ago... But anyway, what happened there...

Officially we entered studio on May 21st. We set up drums, tuned them and did some sound check before hitting that red button labeled 'rec'. The overall sound we ended up with the drums was superb - very natural and all the acoustics of the room were really all there! What you will hear in the end result is of course compressed and 'heavy' but this way it's going to be very natural in the same time. I am very pleased with the sound.

Okay, time to sit behind the kit and play, then. Now, here's a word of advise for all of you: After an exhausting day of tuning and soundchecking and etc. DO NOT start with THE MOST difficult song of the pack. I did and one can only guess what happened. Three words: see you tomorrow.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzz... wake up! Day 2, Friday. This time it's just playing and playing and playing. And it sure was that! 1-2-3-4 and still counting. I nailed 5 songs that day (including the one mentioned above) and that left me with only 2 for Saturday. Yeah!

On Saturday we spent probably 2 hours in the studio and it was a wrap! It's always a shame how fast these sessions pass. It feels as if you're just getting started it's time to pack up and leave. But no this time :) We still have 2 more songs to do. After some finishing touches and last changes on demos, I'll re-enter the studio and play the album tracks next Monday.
