Finnish metallers LEVERAGE are currently at work on their third album. The follow-up to two highly acclaimed albums (Tides and Blind Fire) will be released by Spinefarm Records in the fall of 2009.

The band have issued the following studio diary:

"We spent two fun days recording the majority of the rhythm guitar tracks and a few extra lines. We've got some kick-ass stuff on the way, and we really had a blast bashing away with the new riffs. We both played at the same time, like we've done before, and our friend Jari "The tyrant engineer" was also there again hitting Rec and then either passing or failing us both at the end of a take. This time we both played our ESP 7-strings for most of the time, Torsti had his precious Bogner and I had the trusty Engl Invader for the amps, they sure know how to capture a big guitar sound at Studio Audio, the guitars really growl. We'll do a couple more songs next week, they need their drums recorded first. 'Til then." - Guitarist Tuomas Heikkinen.

"I truly enjoyed the guitar sessions. It was great fun to record the guitar parts with Tuomas sort of "live" again. It went smooth and we were quick, because we had done our homework well. We are not there to pick our noses and figuring out how the arrangements should be. That all has been done very carefully before we hit the studio... especially the nose picking! The sound we got on tape is pretty big as it should be.

There is no editing whatsoever, just pure rock n' roll. I played my parts for the first time with a 7 string guitar. I just love the low b string. A.P Paasonen fixed my guitars to be in the best possible condition for the recordings. He did a fantastic job.

Still got a few more songs to record as well as the guitar solos which I will record at the end of June." - Guitarist Torsti Spoof.
