Courant.com's Kenneth Partridge recently caught up with MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson. An excerpt from the story is available below:

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Rust In Peace, a landmark album Megadeth is performing in its entirety every night of this (American Carnage) tour. Rust arrived at a crucial moment, both for the band and its genre. Lightweight hair-metal acts were still MTV fixtures, and after years of substance abuse, Mustaine and Ellefson had recorded the album sober.

"Because we were just getting cleaned up, you can hear the piss and vinegar on the record," Ellefson says. "It's fast. It's ferocious. It's violent, and it's vicious. And on top of it, it's musically very progressive. It's one thing to be pissed off and use the F word all the time, but on this record, we didn't use the F word, we really were pissed off, and we showed there's a different way to do it."
