Metal Shock Finland Interviews KREATOR Guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö
September 3, 2013, 11 years ago
Tarja Virmakari from Metal Shock Finland recently interviewed KREATOR guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö. Yli-Sirniö spoke widely about the band’s new DVD/Blu-ray concert Dying Alive and about the details around it. He told also about the homecoming show where it was shot, and about recent and upcoming tours, festivals and shows where Kreator shared the stage with the band’s long-time friends DESTRUCTION, SODOM and TANKARD. The chat also brought up the music scenes and their differences in Finland and Germany. Find out what Sami told about them and much more by listening to the chat at MetalShockFinland.com.
The first 30 minutes of Dying Alive can exclusively be streamed at this location (restricted to some territories).
The DVD/Blu Ray features the band's sold out homecoming show in Oberhausen, Germany on December 22, 2012 after an extensive 45 days European tour in support of their highly successful album Phantom Antichrist. The packed and sweat driven show was filmed by 24 cameras as well as guitar and even mosh pit cams.
On Thursday, August 29, Kreator held a highly successful theatrical premiere at the renowned Lichtburg theatre in the band's homewtown Essen. The entire band not only made an appearance at the event but also took part in a Q&A; and a signing session afterwards. ??With more than 500 fans attended the screening, Dying Alive even outnumbered the official premiere of controversial German movie »Feuchtgebiete« the week before.?
Commented mainman Mille Petrozza: "We had a killer night at legendary Lichtburg in Essen yesterday. Thanks to all the fans, friends, buddies and relatives for showing up. When I was just a kid, watching Conan the Barbarian two days in a row, I would have never dreamt of watching a concert movie of my own band on this big screen. Lichtburg is and will ever be the best theatre. Not only in Germany, but worldwide. I also want to thank the organizers of Lichtburg for their awesome support of Essen's metal scene!“

Dying Alive is out now in Europe and in the UK and out today (September 3rd) in North America via Nuclear Blast.
