Misantrof, the “anti” label headed by CARPATHIAN FOREST bass player Daniel Vrangsinn, has added ICON-EIGHT’s 2006 EP Thrash The Moment to its list of releases, all of which, in keeping with the label’s policy, are available for free download. The four-track EP, together with the artwork, can be downloaded at this location.

Icon-Eight was formed in Bergen, Norway, in January 2006 by M. “Mactabilis” Wilson as a reaction to his boredom with the failure of underground black metal bands to recreate the ‘90’s sound. After many years of involvement with various bands and projects in the Bergen area, Mactabilis decided that the solution for him lay within the thrash genre, and Thrash The Moment was, unusually, written and recorded before searching for band members, so that Mactabilis’ vision for the band would be clear right from the start. That vision was to play '80’s inspired Thrash Metal, but with attitude, power, and quality that would make it relevant to the present.

Thrash The Moment will become part of Misantrof’s Archive section, which was set up to include material that was either rare or difficult to find, or that had historical significance, so that the music could be made easily, and more importantly, freely, available, whilst at the same time keeping it safe for posterity. Joining iconic bands such as, NIDINGR, ORCUSTUS, DEATHCULT, LIDSKJALV, HAGGIS, SLAVIA, AMOK, to name but a few, Icon-Eight will be the latest addition to the archives.
