Keeping Morgan Harrington's memory alive through charity and education - that's the mission of Friday's golf tournament at Hanging Rock.
Orphan Medical Network International, or OMNI, is building a three-room school in Zambia that will be named the Morgan Harrington Educational Wing in her honor. Proceeds from Friday's first annual Morgan Harrington Memorial Golf Tournament will go toward that construction.
“It's a charity that her and her mom were very close to and volunteered for,” said Erin Cole, tournament chairperson. “I think that it's really important to keep Morgan's memory alive.”Cole went to high school and college with Harrington. “I know that she would have done something like this for me if the roles were reversed."
The Morgan Harrington Memorial Golf Tournament will begin Friday at 1 p.m.
