April 23, 2008, 16 years ago
MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx spoke to the National Post recently about their forthcoming album, The Saints Of Los Angeles, due out on June 17th.
"We're coming out of the bowels and the gutter of Los Angeles and we're taking off, and we're saying to everybody, ‘someday you will confess, and pray to the saints of Los Angeles', " Sixx explains about the album and single title. "For everyone that was trying to hold us back, we did it."According to the band, the new songs are all based on their 2001 autobiography, The Dirt, a gritty read that chronicles the group's love of alcohol, drugs, women and hot rods.
The new disc marks the first time in over a decade that the band has recorded a studio album with all the original members.
"We honour being a rock n' roll band," Sixx continues. "Just like the (ROLLING) STONES do, just like AEROSMITH does. We don't turn our back on who it is we are."Read more here.
