MÖTLEY CRÜE will launch a world tour, in support of their new album, The Dirt, on July 4th.
In an online post, drummer Tommy Lee also commented on his status in the group, stating, "Nope! I never quit! Silly rumors! We're all together! We're goin' on a world tour starting July 4th!"
As previously reported, Mötley Crüe has set a July 8th release date for The Dirt, their ninth studio album. The first single from the new album is expected to impact radio on May 7th.
The new album is based on The Dirt: Confessions Of The World's Most Notorious Rock Band, the 448-page tome which catalogues the drug and alcohol abuse, nasty infighting, and sex parties of Vince Neil, Tommy Lee, Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx.
A film version of the book is expected to be released this year by Paramount and MTV. It's been billed as a true-life version of This Is Spinal Tap.
Mötley Crüe was formed in 1981 and, as one of the best-selling hard rock heavy metal acts, have sold 50-million albums worldwide.
