The Third Annual MQMusicFest 2008 takes place on Sunday August 17th, 2008 at The Phoenix Concert Theatre, 410 Sherbourne Street, Toronto. For three years running, Metal Queen Management has brought together some of the best rock and metal acts in Canada. This year, to accommodate the abundance of talent, the festival was split into two series, the first of which was held in June and the second is coming up on Sunday August 17th.

Metal Queen Management is pleased to announce that Canadian Speed Metal Legends EXCITER is headlining the second series on August 17th, 2008 at The Phoenix Concert Theatre. Since invading the scene in 1983 with the appropriately named album, Heavy Metal Maniac, Exciter have redefined the limits of Heavy Metal speed and intensity, upping the ante with this year’s new CD entitled, Thrash, Speed, Burn, released on Massacre Records.

Musical diversity plays a part in MQMusicfest. Playing the festival is SHEGOBAND, a Somali arts group from Toronto. Established in 1991, Shegoband has performed in many countries in Europe and North America, was sponsored by the BBC and has 12 albums that sold over 500,000 copies! Shegoband appears on more than 30 albums.

Shegoband is known for their support of cultural and educational events and has played a significant role narrowing the cultural gap between the Canadian multicultural communities. The group has won awards numerous times and helped raise funds for different charity events.

Also notably playing is BOBNOXIOUS, the party rock band featuring RAZOR frontman Bob J. Reid, who just released a new album on June 24th, 2008 entitled, Superscar!! Listen and buy SuperScar here.

Managed by Metal Queen Management, SIN DEALER had a great past year playing with Drowning Pool, W.A.S.P., Joey Belladonna, Teenagehead, Prong, as well as a Canadian Music Week showcase and releasing a second CD entitled Dying to Live, a tour de force of down-tuned, southern-tinged hard rock. Together since 2004, Sin Dealer has established themselves as a force to be reckoned with, with memorable songs brought to life in a highly energized live show, that has prompted comparisons with Corrosion of Conformity, Motorhead, Rob Zombie, Ministry and Down.

MQMusicfest 2008 Series 2 will take place at The Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto, is a 19+ event and doors open at 3 PM for 10-hours of music mayhem.

Bands scheduled to play include: BOBNOXIOUS, EXCITER, FIDGET, INERTIAS COURSE, MAN THE DESTROYER, MINORITY, SHEGO BAND, SIN DEALER, STONE ANGEL.
