Swedish black metallers NECROPHOBIC recently added bassist Alex Friberg as a permanent member.

The following is a brief Q&A; with Alex:

Q: How does it feel to be the "new" warrior in such a long running band?

A: "I'm very honored and proud to be fully trusted with this task."

Q: What can you tell us about your background?

A: "I have listened to metal for as long as I can remember, and picked up the bass giutar at the age of 10. I have played with numerous bands, but it was all a warm-up for Necrophobic, hehe..."

Q: What are your feelings towards the new material for the upcoming album?

A: "Total destruction! Also a total killer for me to be a part of the making process in an early stage."

A recent update from the band states: "We are soon ready to enter the studio again to record the sixth full length studio album. All material is written and the new beast is planned to hit the streets in February/March 2009. The album is yet untitled, but some titles for the songs are 'For Those Who Stayed Satanic', 'Triumph Of The Horned', 'Wings Of Death', 'The Tower', 'Revelation 666' to name a few."

Necrophobic recently released a limited metal box called Satanic Blasphemies via Regain Records in September 2008. The metal box includes a CD, a poster, a patch and a extensive booklet. The CD features the material of the first two legendary demos (Slow Asphyxiation '90 and Unholy Prophecies '91) and the legendary 7" EP The Call 92. The material comes fully remastered.
