August 10, 2010, 14 years ago
Oakland, California folk metallers PANDEMONAEON have announced they are releasing their third album Dangerous Beauty, on Trance Jam Records.
According to a press release, the 13-song CD features Middle Eastern tinged metal/rock ranging from the hard-hitting ‘Eater Of Sorrow’ and ‘Lover’s Pardon’ to the dark ‘Hunter’ and the epic ‘Chalice And Blades’.
Joining Sharon and Winter on Dangerous Beauty are Caith Threefires on bass, Gari Hegedus (STELLAMARA) on violin and mandocello, Paul Nordin on extreme vocals, Tina “Bean” Blaine on percussion, Mark Abbott on drums, as well as Tim Rayborn on harmony vocals, oud, saz, dumber, and Stephen Schultz on baroque flute.
Dangerous Beauty will be available for sale at Pandemonaeon’s website in early November.
Digital downloads will be available on iTunes.
Pandemonaeon was founded in 1996 by Celtic singer Sharon Knight and her long-time collaborator Winter, and incorporates such folk instruments as violin, oud, saz, mandocello, flute, and others. Due to its Middle Eastern and goth influence, Sharon has described their sound as "music for belly dancers in combat boots."
