PETER FRAMPTON is touring in celebration of the 35th Anniversary of his multi-platinum-selling live album, Frampton Comes Alive!.

Frampton talks about the tour in a new interview with The Globe And Mail's Brad Wheeler. An excerpt from the interview follows:

Q: In the 1970s, ERIC CLAPTON resisted the idea of doing a live album, arguing that a concert was meant to be just one night, which is why he eventually called his album that, Just One Night. This summer, by playing Frampton Comes Alive! in full, aren’t you moving even further away from playing in the moment?

A: "We’ll be doing the set list that we did that night at the Winterland in San Francisco, but we’re not recreating it. That was just one night, and I’d say the same thing as Eric."

Q: You won’t be playing it lick for lick?

A: "No. If you paid me a billion dollars I wouldn’t be able to do it anyway [laughs]. I’m not made that way. I am of the moment, always have been. I’m much better at take one than at take two in the studio."
