Producer/sound engineer Kevin Shirley (LED ZEPPELIN, IRON MAIDEN, AEROSMITH) has issued the following update regarding IRON MAIDEN's forthcoming movie/tour documentary:

"Here I am, in a downtown Toronto hotel, suffering the ill effects of an hermetically sealed hotel room when both the air and the temperature outside are perfect for camping under the stars! Not that you're likely to find me camping anywhere when there's a hotel within fifty miles - we don't camp! I'm here to check out the line edits of the Iron Maiden movie (specifically the perfomance aspects) which is being edited and assembled here, so last night we got together to listen to the audio and see the edit thus far. They're a good bunch of lads and lasses, but I must confess to it being a little early in the process for me to be here, or they're running a bit behind, as it's not quite where it should be but I'll certainly help out where I can, and so it's off to the studio soon, to fix up sync and shot issues before anyone gets to see the rough cut."

Directors Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn of Banger Films Inc. (creators of the critically acclaimed, award-winning documentary Metal: Headbanger's Journey and the newly released follow-up Global Metal) are currently editing hundreds of hours of live and behind-the-scenes footage for the film.

About the tour documentary expected to be released in late 2008/early 2009, Iron Maiden commented recently: "This will be such an incredible and exciting tour that we agreed with Scot and Sam's proposal to document this so if you see cameras following us around everywhere and around the stage you now know why!! A record of this is something that the band and myself would love to have and we are feel that many of you fans may feel hopefully feel the same - there has never been a tour quite like this before!"
