Whitby, Ontario-based progressive metallers PROTEST THE HERO will release their third studio album, Scurrilous, on March 21st in the UK via Spinefarm Records UK.

The album will be available on March 22nd via Universal Music in Canada and Vagrant Records in the US. Scurrilous is the follow up to the band’s 2008 sophomore release, Fortress, and reunites the band with producer Julius “Juice” Butty.

Scurrilous was produced by Julius ‘Juice’ Butty, mixed by Machine. This 10-track offering is the follow-up to 2008’s sophomore release Fortress. Lead single/video ‘C’est La Vie’ leads the charge – all spiralling guitar, locomotive off-kilter rhythms (very much a PTH trademark) and huge soarin’ melodies.

Other tracks on the album include ‘Hair-Trigger’ (featuring the back-up vocals of Canadian folk artist Jadea Kelly, who has previously guested with the band both live and on record), ‘Moonlight’, ‘Dunsel’ & ‘Sex Tapes’; this time around, frontman Rody Walker has taken the lead on the lyric writing side, resulting in the most personal set of PTH lyrics to date, leaving his colleagues to unleash the musical fireworks – an adrenalized shred-fest that also delivers big-time on 'The Groove'.

Protest The Hero recently began their world tour with dates in Europe and the UK through February 12th supporting DARKEST HOUR. Following an appearance at Australia’s 2011 Soundwave Festival, the band will begin an extensive Canadian and US tour March 23rd with support acts MAYLENE and THE SONS OF DISASTER AND TESSARACT.
