QUEENSRŸCHE, now featuring frontman Todd La Torre in place of original singer Geoff Tate, are currently in the studio with producer James Barton, who engineered the band's classic Operation: Mindcrime album. Barton has checked in with the following update:

"Last day with Scotty Rock at London Bridge. Nine tracks already cut in 4 days."

La Torre recently issued the following update: "FYI, it's not a ‘power metal’ album, but I do land some siiiiiiiick screams here and there that would rival blinded, if not higher, but only in tasty spots. This is by no means a ‘screaming’ record, it's Queensrÿche. The boys are working out the finishing details before tracking, and we are hopeful you will love what we have in store for you. James Barton is sure to capture and engineer the wonderful quality that is synonymous with his name.”
