QUEENSRŸCHE's Todd La Torre – “I Really Feel Like I Am In The Only Version Of Queensrÿche”
June 28, 2013, 11 years ago
The Classic Metal Show, heard Saturdays from 9pm to 3am EST at this location live, will be featuring an interview conducted earlier this week with new QUEENSRYCHE vocalist Todd La Torre. When asked about his version of Queensryche vs. the GEOFF TATE version of the band, La Torre admitted that he does not recognize Tate's version as Queensryche.
Todd La Torre: “Where I’m at with these guys is really, and I mean no disrespect and I’m just trying to be completely pragmatic, is that I really feel that I am in the only version of Queensryche. Even though there’s another band out there touring, I just think that it really boils down to the music. He’s got wonderful musicians that have accompanied him, but to call it Queensryche, I think is a bit unfair. The record is speaking for itself, which is completely indicative and representative that the guys in the band that I play in are in fact Queensryche, because it sounds like it. Nothing was contrived. It was just a very organic body of work that this record was. It’s a great starting point for this new chapter.”
