After guitarist JEFF HEALEY died in 2008, fans, friends and fellow musicians spearheaded a drive to rename a park in his neighbourhood in his honour. On April 12th, a distinguished group of Canadian musicians (featuring such luminaries as RANDY BACHMAN, DANNY MARKS, TONEY 'WILD T' SPRINGER) took part in a benefit concert - called Rock For Jeff Healey Park - to raise money to acquire special playground equipment to make Etobicoke's Jeff Healey Park more accessible for children with disabilities.

Randy Bachman, graciously and enthusiastically agreed, along with the incomparable Dave Murphy (Jeff Healey Blues Band) on keys, to join LAMONT JAMES & THE VITROLITES on stage for what turned into an epic 12-minute rendition of NEIL YOUNG's 'Like A Hurricane'. Check out footage below:

Anyone wanting to make a donation to Jeff Healey Park should send a cheque, addressed to Friends of Woodford Park (former name of the park - official name of the registered charity) to:

20 Delroy Drive,

Etobicoke, ON

M8Y 1M7

(Include a return address if you'd like a tax receipt.)
