NoneLouder.com has issued the following report from Jake Rosenberg:

This just in, DREAM THEATER has begun recording their 10th studio album.

Here’s a word from Mike Portnoy: "Imagine a Dream Theater album with 'A Change Of Seasons', 'Octavarium', 'Learning To Live', 'Pull Me Under' and 'The Glass Prison'... all on one album... COULD YOU HANDLE IT?? Excited? I sure am!!!!"

Wouldn’t it be great if he was just talking about a new re-mastered/best of album containing the fore mentioned songs? A few years ago I would be stoked about this news, but now I’m just jaded. It’s never a good sign when you describe your new album as a compilation of songs that sound like songs you have already released. Dream Theater is one of the few progressive bands that stopped progressing years ago. Everything feels rushed and uninspired. It’s almost like they are trucking through albums so they can release an accompanying live DVD. I mean they’ve released 4 DVDs to go with their last 5 studio albums. They need to take the time to produce something that will blow minds.
