"When it occurred to us just how many of our songs had slipped through the cracks and never ended up on full lengths, we decided it was about damn time to compile for our fans who might want to check them out," stated Chicago's RISE AGAINST. "We gathered up 26 songs and put them on our first B-side record, Long Forgotten Songs."

"As we gear up for the release of Long Forgotten Songs: B-Sides & Covers 2000 - 2013, (on September 10th via Interscope Records), we wanted to let you know about some limited edition items we will be making available exclusively through three different choices of bundled packages. Some of these items include a green marble/double-vinyl version of the record (w/ mp3 download card), a cassette version (yes, a cassette version), a full-color album artwork lithograph, artwork themed merch, and a discography poster depicting all of our releases so far.

We also created a limited edition Live From The Honda Center 10" picture disc vinyl that captures a live performance of our MC5 cover 'Kick Out The Jams' featuring Tom Morello and MC5 guitar player Wayne Kramer. Side two is our cover of 'The Ghost Of Tom Joad' (joined by Brian Fallon of THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM as well as Kramer and Morello).

These items are available in bundled packages only and also offer a standard edition CD (instead of vinyl) as an option. But once they're gone, we won't be making any more."

"The songs on this record are different versions of existing Rise Against songs, covers, or originals that never made it on a record for some reason,"says lead singer Tim McIlrath. "Common wisdom tells us that the reason is that a B-side is just a song not good enough to make the cut. While I think that logic can apply sometimes, I think it's short-sighted. See, the songs that really aren't good enough, you'll never hear. They never make it outside of our practice space. If we finish a song, bring it to the studio, write lyrics, and see it to fruition, then it becomes one of the children that make up a family of songs. If we weren't proud of it, it would have been scrapped along the way."
