Now, that distinctive voice and spirit continues on in the Rock Scene Magazine Podcast. The podcast begins by featuring 75+ interviews conducted by Mark over the past decade, paying homage to the magazine that influenced the rock scene in the early days of rock n’ roll. We talk to your favorite musicians from the decades that rocked, telling their personal story of trial and tribulation on the journey to becoming rock royalty. Beginning April 1st, and every day throughout the month of April, they are publishing classic interviews from the archives, including Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, who said, “Nothing will replace the actual feeling of the texture of the paper. It was amazing how fast word spread back then, and if a band made it in one town it was incredible how word spread from town to town.”

Joe remembers going to the family dinners as a child where his uncle would play Portuguese folk songs on his home made guitar. His parents got him a clarinet and piano lessons. But, after listening to Ike and Tina Turner, Roy Orbison and Elvis on the radio in the late 1950s, he wanted to emulate the sounds he was hearing so he talked his parents into getting a guitar and started playing around with it for a while.

Happy Birthday to Josh Todd of Buckcherry. Born on April 4, 1950. Listen to Josh's interview here.

Additional episodes feature Ace Frehley, Phil Anselmo, Meat Loaf, Steve Vai, Sammy Hagar and Sebastian Bach, who said, "All we had for music was rock magazines, and Rock Scene was one my favorites because they had so many more photos than other magazines.”
