SACRED OATH will appear in concert for the first time this year at the Ragnarokkr Metal Apocalypse in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday October 1st. This is the band’s first show since original drummer Kenny Evans suffered a devastating spinal injury in November 2010 during a show at New Haven University.

“It feels a little strange,” says Rob Thorne, the band’s singer and guitarist. “Every once in a while I get this strange sensation that I’m not wearing any pants and then I realize that I’m just missing Kenny. Twenty five years is a long time to play together. You get very comfortable with someone in that kind of time.”

Fans can look forward to a special reunion on Saturday anyway, as original bassist and founding member Pete Altieri is expected to get on stage with the band for a rendition of 'Rising From the Grave'. Although he recorded on two recent Sacred Oath albums (Darkness Visible, A Crystal Revision), Altieri has not performed live with the band since 1988. The lineup this time around will also include Bill Smith (guitar), Brendan Kelleher (bass), and drummer Ignacio Orellana – a Chilean native who is filling in while Evans recovers from surgery.

Also playing at the Ragnarokkr Metal Apocalypse: HELSTAR, CAGE, and fellow Connecticut headbangers OBSESSION (Friday September 30th). Tickets for both days are $25 and can be purchased at this location..

On Thursday, October 6th, Sacred Oath will perform at The Legendary Dobbs in Philadelphia, marking the band's first show in Philly since 1988 when they played with Warlock on the Crystal Vision tour. Then the band will return home for a show at the Heirloom Arts Theater in Danbury Connecticut on Friday, October 7th. Information including advance ticket sales can be found at this location.
