SARAH JEZEBEL DEVA, who has contributed vocals to CRADLE OF FILTH, COVENANT, THERION, MORTIIS and ANGTORIA among others, has issued the following update:

"Day 1 of recording...

Was not sure at all if we would make it into the studio today without breaking down on the motor way. Firstly, I almost hit a cement truck up the arse the other day, I was very lucky but totally my fault, was playing around with my car stereo and next thing I look up and the truck ahead was almost on my lap and my air bags almost went off, so they need to be re-set as the sign on the dash is flashing.

I think maybe also it caused another problem with the engine, I believe I still have an engine in the car after the way I hit the breaks.... Glad I was dumb enough to get 2 types of break down cover (I forgot I already had one haha)... So without making myself look even more stupid, we got here... A beautiful farm house owned by Rising Records, a lovely lake and lots of chickens and ducks for me to molest when I am bored! And if I am bored of that, there's 6 bathrooms and about 14 others rooms for me to play hide and seek in! Lets hope I dont find myself huh....

So I know a lot of people have been asking about this album and I haven't said much, to be honest I didn't know if this album would happen because I have had some shit in my life where I just lost all hope for direction and motivation. Now I feel I have risen up and I am back on track and I am very happy and focused, so now I can tell people what they wanna know... Its not another Angtoria, Its not CoF... what is it? Hell if I know! haha... its music! No label, just me and the people I care about doing music. Its not pompous, its not over the top, I would like to say its just a mixture of styles and feelings. Some tracks are fast, almost having a black metal edge, some tracks are slow, almost like a movie film score... and well, it just doesn't all sound the same, its not blast beats from start to finish, it has feeling and well, thats it!

The album is called A Sign Of Sublime and its just a self-titled Sarah Jezebel Deva.

We are doing a cover, BITCH by Meredith Brooks. It's slightly more heavy than the original and I did it because I love the song! Simple. Its rock! It don't know if we have added anything to the song or taken anything away, either way, It was fun to do and thats what music is about... This was the first track Dave Pybus (Cradle Of Filth) completed, it took him about 10 mins. and it was just a good track to start with, a good warm up.

I feel lucky to have one of my best friends work with me on this album, he did Angtoria and of course Dave and I have worked together many years in CoF and I am just proud to have someone by my side who doesn't put any restrictions on me and doesn't believe in putting restrictions on music. He is open minded and fun, loyal and very hard working and we both have the same vision... to enjoy life and playing.

There is something wrong with me, I haven't once made any jokes about his age or that he cums dust!?

The next track Dave has just completed is the title track 'A Sign Of Sublime'. Took him about 20 mins. to do, damn he is working fast! It sounds so epic! The guitars have been written by Ken Newman from the USA. This is the first major thing he has done and I know he was nervous but I think he did amazing job considering we did all this over emails and the internet. In between playing with himself, he found the time to record all his guitars at home and I am just proud of him and very happy he took a chance with me!

So thats it for now... I will add more later. No idea when the album will be released, I am guessing late this year? Suppose I should just also mention that Martin Powell (ex-Cradle/ANETHAMA/MY DYING BRIDE) has done some amazing work for this album and also Max, the drummer for TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED drummed on the entire album and pardon my french but he did a shit hot job too!

Anyway, off now... Thanks for reading."
