Q: My argument to the “out of metal people” often is that no other type of music can be wed so well-matching with the classical/symphonic music. The new Septic Flesh album is another fabulous example. Can you help me extending my argumentation on this?
A: Look, symphonic music has the advantage that it can be combined with all types of music. From metal up to folk. An orchestra can create a big variety of sounds. Usually it is used just to escort some music and at that point you can pinpoint the difference with metal in which the orchestra can play a leading role –like in Communion. Also metal has an adventurous and more dramatic entity than other kinds of music, something which helps this combination with symphonic music."
