Roadburn has announced that doom supergroup SHRINEBUILDER will be part of the festival line-up on Saturday, April 17, 2010.

With Scott Kelly (NEUROSIS) and Scott “Wino” Weinrich (SAINT VITUS, THE OBSESSED, THE HIDDEN HAND and WINO) on guitar, Al Cisneros (OM, SLEEP) on bass and Dale Crover (MELVINS) on drums, Shrinebuilder’s self-titled debut full-length (released on Neurot Recordings) is perhaps the most anticipated Roadburn Festival album of the year.

Roadburn organizers comment: "We are truly looking forward to see Kelly, Wino, Cisneros and Crover meld their unique, different styles. When these four musicians get together, catchy canyon-size riffs lead to psychedelic guitar solos; subdued vocals add a mellow touch; and the meandering, groove-laden ambience ultimately creates crushing doom riffage. The sum of the parts is only strengthened by the natural vibe between these musical heavyweights – all of whom embody the true spirit of the Roadburn Festival."

Scott Kelly comments: “ As individuals we are all veterans of the immense depth that the Roadburn Festival brings to the world of sound and the electric church. As Shrinebuilder we look forward to the opportunity to return once again to the stage at the 013. Only this time we step through a new door as reborn veterans of the psychic war and we bring all that we have taken and all that has been taken from us to lay it at the feet of the gods and ask for nothing in return but the opportunity to play these songs that were gifted to us for the people who will stand in the room with us on April 17, 2010.”

Roadburn 2010 will run for three days from Thursday, April 15 to Saturday, April 17 at the 013 venue and Midi Theatre in Tilburg, Holland. There will be an additional Afterburner event on Sunday, April 18, 2010.

Confirmed acts include: CANDLEMASS, GOATSNAKE, YOB, THORR'S HAMMER, COMUS, SONS OF OTIS, MOSS, ALTAR OF PLAGUES, BRANT BJORK & THE BROS and YAKUZA

Candlemass will perform their classic album, Epicus Doomicus Metallicus in its entirety with Johan Längquist on vocals. There will be a special part of the set that incorporates new singer Robert Lowe as well.

Tom Gabriel Warrior, founder of the illustrious Hellhammer and Celtic Frost, has agreed to act as the curator for the festival on Friday, April 16th 2010, and host a special event at Roadburn, called Only Death Is Real. Tom’s duties as curator include personally selecting the bands that will play on Only Death Is Real, as well as to perform the first major headlining set with his latest incarnation, TRIPTYKON.
