Metal Exiles' Jeffrey Easton has issued a Q&A; with SILENT CIVILIAN vocalist/guitarist Jonny Santos. The following is an excerpt:

Q: What is the daily life of Jonny Santos like? How do you stay in a daily mental state to carry a band like Silent Civilian?

A: "My daily life is normal when I’m home. Outside of the stress that comes with being in a band sometimes, I do pretty normal things. Spend time with my family, help my daughter with her homework, hang out at local dive bars with my close friends etc... It’s things like that that keep you sane. Keeps your feet on the ground and helps you deal with the stress of being in a whirlwind environment. Without those things in my life, I would be a nutcase!! When I’m on tour, we work hard, but we play hard too!!"

Q: As said, between the debut album and now was a tumultuous time. How were you able to focus on Ghost Stories and what did you take from the situation?

A: "I am a firm believer that misery and anger breed creativity. With that said, once I actually sat down to write, it all kinda just came flowing out of me without having to force it out. It seems like a catch 22, but it works. As far as focusing, once I lock in on a goal, I pretty much develop tunnel vision and nothing can distract me."

Jonny Santos (vocals, guitars) further comments: “I am very excited to be a part of this tour. Not only has FF been one of my all-time favorite bands, but they have been like family to me over the years, especially Dino. He is like my metal Dad, and had a lot to do with the start of my career back in the early SS days. He gave me my first U.S. and European tours and basically taught me how to survive on the road, as well as proper tour etiquette. This tour couldn’t have come to us at a better time, since our record comes out 5/18 and the tour starts two days before that. It will allow us to sell the record at our merch booth and give the fans an opportunity to meet the band and get a CD signed.

“We have always been a band that tries to stay close to our fans and interact with them as much as possible. I also feel that this tour will open us up to a lot of fans who have never heard of us and push the SC name out there a little more. I have to say I’m just as excited to tour with Prong. I was a huge fan of them as well when I was a kid. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone in Thy Will Be Done and predicting this tour to be an all around success! We are going to play a lot of new material live, and plan on crushing the fans every night. This is gonna be one brutal fucking tour, and I am very honored to be a part of the ‘Fear Campaign.’ I will see all you guys out there on the road.”
