Greece's Rock Overdose has issued a new interview conducted with SODOM vocalist Tom Angelripper. An excerpt follows:

Q: Your career spans over a period of more than 30 years, a fact that renders you among the most prolific musicians and places Sodom among the “archetypal” classic heavy metal bands of the genre. How do you imagine yourselves in 10 years? How do you imagine the concluding point of Sodom?

A: "I never think about that. As long as I am creative and stay healthy, I will do music. That is my life, my passion and can't live without it. But I realize that the final point will come. And then, I will decide what to do, not the business, the fans or any company. But at the time we have so many plans for the future."

Q: After the critical acclaim of your album Epitome Of Torture, it is evident that your best albums do not necessarily belong in the good old days. How this statement affects you for the creation of the follow up album? Do you think that it would be hard to maintain this momentum of inspiration?

A: "Oh yes. We always try to keep the spirit of the good old days but we can't repeat the time! We already wrote a couple of songs for the next album and you can be sure, that you'll get another classic Sodom output. We never look back but we know that we have to find the balance between the so called “best albums” and “best line up” and new musically challenges. We always do the music we like, without any dictation from labels and publishers with their commercial expectations. There is no pressure. We are successful in the way we write our songs and we think about the business. We know exactly what the Sodom fans expect. Don't want to leave the disappointed. We are blinded when we start the writing process and never look what other bands do."
