French progressive metal band SPHERIC UNIVERSE EXPERIENCE, who released their third album Unreal in May 2009 through Sensory Records, have just returned from a two-week European tour supporting UK-proggers Threshold and Austrian power/prog metallers Serenity.

Keyboardist Fred Colombo had the following to say about the tour: “It’s been a really great experience. Almost all venues were large and very professionally run. The audience was amazing. Every night, we’ve had fantastic response; some fans knew us, a majority didn’t, but all screamed and applauded after the songs.”

He continues: “As for the guys we toured with, we have NEVER been working with such NICE people. Richard from Threshold (who also worked as tour manager), the rest of Threshold, the Serenity guys, roadies, sound engineers, venue techs, everyone showed such a huge kindness towards SUE… These are intelligent, open-minded, generous professionals. We are so grateful. This motivated us even more to do our very best, give back this kindness and be up to the task.”

On being on the road: “Even after 3 albums and a lot of shows/festivals around the World (including ProgPower USA in Atlanta in 2008), this was the first time we were going on a lengthy tour, living all together for 2 weeks, 24/24. I was a little bit afraid, as you never really know what it’s gonna be like, even if we’ve known each other for almost 9 years now. Well, everything went PERFECT. Not any single argument whatsoever. Only laughters, jokes, chats and chats and chats, for hours and hours. The band has gained something more than fans through this tour; it has improved and strengthened Spheric Universe Experience as a FAMILY.”

Fred concludes: “Now, no break for Spheric Universe Experience - we’re starting the composition of SUE4 this week. We plan to record and release it in 2010. It will certainly be more metal, catchy and perhaps even a little bit less complex. We can’t wait to get started!”
