Rockpages.gr spoke with STEELHEART singer Miljenko Matijevic regarding the band's new album, Good 2B Alive. An excerpt from the chat follows:

Rockpages.gr: Good 2B Alive marks Steelheart’s return, but it also marks a departure from the trademark sound of the first couple of records. It sounds more aggressive, with sharp guitars and a big, modern production. Is this the 'new' Steelheart or an 'updated' version of the old one?

Miljenko Matijevic: "It’s an evolution…from my perspective, it’s called growing up…people grow up and move forward. I think it’s important for me as an artist and person not to stay in the past. I am not saying that I turn my back in the past…I am proud of my past and I totally respect it! To be honest, I don’t know if I can write like I used to write in the early '90s. I mean, I know that I am capable of doing it, but I don’t want to because I am a different person."

Rockpages.gr: Are you concerned of the long-time fans’ possible negative reaction?

Miljenko Matijevic: "So far, the reaction from the media and the fans has been overwhelming! I gave my heart and should for this record and as I said before I didn’t want to recreate the sound of the '70s or '80s. There were only one or two fans who complained about the new direction. I mean, come on…grow up, listen to the music and accept that we are grown ups."
