Slash bassist and Sin City Sinners frontman Todd Kerns has made his new live solo album, Bootleg Confessional: Live In Vegas, available for pre-order exclusively at Pledge Music. Note that Bootleg Confessional: Live In Vegas will only be released in digital download form. There will be no hard copies (CDs, vinyl, or cassettes).

"The September 2nd show in 2013 was the second acoustic show at Vamp’d in support of Borrowing Trouble and as always I chose to make it a celebration by inviting people I love and respect to come play," says Todd. "As an afterthought we decided to record the show with no plan of release in place. It was always my intention that if we were to release any live recording that it should have as little tampering as possible. Some of my incessant chatter has been cut down for time but for the most part what you hear is what happened that night as it went down."

"Bootleg Confessional is bootleg only in name. It was recorded professionally, not on a smuggled cassette recorder under someone’s shirt. Though that might be a cool idea for next time...

The bootleg theme is consistent throughout with an actual cassette on the cover with my handwriting as if it were handed to you in the strictest of confidence. To me that represents the beauty of sharing music in a time when sharing music is the most prevalent way we hear it.

I attached ‘Confessional’ to ‘Bootleg’ because any live recording is the most naked time for any performer. Especially an acoustic performance. Nothing to hide behind. The live performance of one’s songs is such a release one can feel absolved of sin. I like to think of music as my religion and the live performance as my testimonial. The lyrics are raw, just a voice and a guitar. I am confessing and you are absolving. We are nothing without the other. The singer without an audience or the audience without entertainment."

Bootleg Confessional: Live In Vegas features 16 songs:
