Danish hard rockers VOLBEAT have issued the following update:

"Due to recent developments, our bassist and friend, Anders Kjølholm, has taken a necessary break from the U.S. tour and returned home to Denmark to be with his family. Everyone is doing well, and we ask that you understand this is a personal matter and give Anders and his family the privacy they need...

Filling in for Anders and pulling double duty will be our good friend Josh Newton from THE DAMNED THINGS (and EVERY TIME I DIE). We want to thank Josh and The Damned Things camp for stepping up and helping us out."

Volbeat recently released their new video, for the track '16 Dollars, lifted from the group's latest album, Beyond Hell/Above Heaven. Check out the video below:

As previously reported, Volbeat's new album, Beyond Hell/Above Heaven, has reached gold status in Germany for sales in excess of 100,000 units. Poulsen is thrilled about the award:

"Gold status in Germany sounds pretty good to me. That’s a whole lotta CDs, and these days it’s not an easy achievement. I’m really proud, and everyone in the band is happy about it, because particularly the German fans have supported Volbeat right from the beginning. Thank you people, YOU ROCK!"

Volbeat is touring Germany this summer with performances at Rock am Ring, Rock im Park and Full Force Festival, as well as several other venues in Europe. Check out their concert calendar here for details.
