WOODS OF YPRES founder/frontman David Gold has posted music for a new musical endeavour under the name HELSINKI SEOUL. He describes it as "a work in progress about seeing the world alone and being lost without you." Go to this location to hear several different version of a short piece entitled 'Kuwait'.
When asked if Helsinki Seoul is a a serious project, Gold said "It's likely; whatever that was will turn into something, some time, when the time is right. I will have full songs ready to go."
Gold was recently asked to describe what the band's next album, known for the time being simply as Woods 5. He offered the following:
"If there's a colour it's black, if there's a time of day it's at night, if there's a season at all it's winter. It will be sad, classy, dark and heavy. I'm almost 30 years old I've heard a lot of blastbeats and a lot of guitar wanking, but at this age I like a good song writing. I think people get into the music and connect with it because of that."Gold is featured in a new interview with Fearless Radio. Gold discusses Nick Cave, Woods II, writing Woods 5, the band's 'riff rules,' the recent Pain & Piss tour, and the future of the band.
Gold: "Also, the interviewer is very pleasant and patient with my ramblings. Have a listen!"
