You couldn't ask for a better methodology for presenting rarities than this, Dave Meniketti and his Van Halen-couldabeens lining up a full 17 lost-now-found tracks and explaining their existence fully with little interview quotes, credits and year of release. Generalizing, what you get is a bunch of fairly lacklustre mug-pounding barroom rockers played and recorded well, nice and meaty, before some bigshot producer could ruin them. Truth be, I'd rather listen to these hot, sweaty, boomy blue collar songs than anything on Ten or Contagious, and to make it even better, there's a pair of nice 'n' cheesy, bloody catchy Black Tiger-era tracks and a hilarious joke-glam new wave messaround from '74 called 'Rockazoid Rollaroid'. Nothing incredibly special, but at 73 minutes, there's a lot of 'good enough' to be found.
