As mentioned in the Day 1 synopsis, across the board, Heavy Montreal tries to cater to all factions of the hard rock/metal spectrum. In that regard, BraveWords took in performances by Napalm Death, Candlemass, Alter Bridge, the second (albeit more subdued) performance by Zakk Wylde, a rare midday set from Blind Guardian (fresh off a red eye flight from Germany, where they played Wacken, at midnight, a day earlier), Killswitch Engage, Suffocation and Volbeat.
