For the third time in history, Bayfest has a sold-out show.
The last tickets for AEROSMITH were purchased just after 6 p.m. Friday, leaving fans who think they might snag one at the gate sadly misinformed.
The only chance anyone has of buying an Aerosmith ticket now is to get one of the few four-show passes still available, said organizer Michele Stokley.
To sell out a show in Centennial Park's soccer field means 20,000 tickets must be purchased, she said.
Only two other bands have sold out before for Bayfest the TRAGICALLY HIPin 2004 and THE BARENAKED LADIES in 2003.
In the case of the Barenaked Ladies, the last tickets went in the final minutes before showtime.
That could be the case for several more acts this year, Stokley said.
"All tickets are going well," she said.
Aerosmith's ability to sell out Bayfest may be linked to the fact the band has very few Canadian tour stops. When they arrive in Sarnia, they'll have just returned from Russia seven days earlier. After Bayfest, they move on to play in Charlottetown, P.E.I. And that's it for Canada as they head to California.
Meanwhile, all supporting acts for the four-day festival were confirmed this week.
