3 INCHES OF BLOOD have won the 2011 Indie Award for "Metal Artist/Group Of The Year". The 11th annual Indie Awards - or the "Grammys-of-the-Canadian-Indie-Scene" - took place on Saturday, March 12th at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, marking the closing festivities of Canadian Music Week. Century Media, EMI Music Canada, and 3IOB's entire Canadian team would like to congratulate the band on an incredible year!

3IOB vocalist Cam Pipes comments, "We'd like to thank all our fans for voting for us. As a metal band, it's nice to be recognized on a national scale. Congrats also to our friends in CANCER BATS who also picked up an Indie award the same night. Both bands winning sets up our upcoming tour together with a little extra notoriety."

3 Inches Of Blood will team up with fellow Canadians Cancer Bats for a cross- Canada run in May. Right before that they will hit the US with SKELETONWITCH for a two week run through the Midwest and East coast, which will include a stop at New England Metal and Hardcore Festival in Worcester, MA on April 16th.

Born out of a love for pure metal, weaned on a diet of fantasy and mythology, Vancouver's 3 Inches Of Blood are one of the biggest defenders of traditional heavy metal and have been slaying the infidel for nearly a decade. In that time, they've released three albums and splattered the ground with crimson streaks while on tour with such acclaimed acts as SATYRICON, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, MOTÖRHEAD and CRADLE OF FILTH, to name a few. The band's latest album, the monumental Here Waits Thy Doom, was released September 8th, 2009.
