March 26, 2010, 14 years ago
According to US television/radio personality Eddie Trunk's Blog-Trunk Report, AC/DC's legendary concert film Let There Be Rock - which was filmed on December 9th, 1979 at the Pavillion De Paris in France - will receive its long-awaited DVD release in January 2011.
Says Trunk: "They are doing some clean ups to the audio and video and making it as high def as the source will allow. This is just a phenomenal document of the last tour with Bon."
According to The Internet Movie Data Base, after almost ten minutes of glimpses at the backstage life, the real movie starts as the band is introduced playing live on stage. Although the band is still in their '70s minimalist era with few stage effects and pyrotechnics, the live performance is considered one of the best and most energetic of their career. The live concert is intercut with quasi-fictional interviews with the members of the band. The interviews took place in Reims, France, two days before the concert.
