June 5, 2007, 17 years ago
The debut album from Newcastle, UK rockers THE URGE features AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson, on the track 'Blue Steel'.
A note at the band's MySpace page reads: "The word is out and the buzz is already growing for Newcastle's newest and hottest rock band, The Urge, who came together under a year ago and have already recorded their debut album, Lunch At The Ladygarden.
Work began recording the album at Wild Trax studios with Frankie Gibbon engineering and the legendary "John Miles" (of "Music Was My First Love" fame) producing.
They set out to write some kick ass rock'n' roll songs with great strong melodies and that's just what they acheived.
The band are good friends with legendary AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson and on hearing the album he liked it so much he came down and hung out in the studio for a beer or two and ended up singing on one of the tracks, 'Blue Steel'.
And with the album now completed the band are embarking on live dates and are on the verge of singing a deal. So it won't be long before eveyone is getting "the urge".
