Spinner.ca is reporting:

AEROSMITH is currently on tour with ZZ TOP throughout the summer, and drummer Joey Kramer says fans should expect a new album of "old, homegrown Aerosmith" by the end of the year, beginning of 2010.

But these days, the band is seeing even more young faces in the audience, and that can be partly be attributed to the success of their Guitar Hero game. Jimmy Page of LED ZEPPELIN fame recently ripped franchises like Guitar Hero and Rock Band, calling it "depressing" that the games are how many kids are finding out about rock music.

Kramer doesn't see the conflict: "If that's what you gotta do to get kids to understand what a band like Aerosmith's all about and encourage them to learn more about the music, then that's just one more way to find out about it," he tells Spinner. Even so, Kramer concedes "it may not be the most ideal way to find out about historic bands, but we'll see what happens when they offer those guys boat-loads of money. We'll see if they turn it down or not."
