AMBERIAN DAWN Guitarist On New Album - "There’s A Natural Evolution Going On And The Music Is Growing All The Time"
September 14, 2010, 14 years ago
Tuomas Seppälä, guitarist and keyboardist for Finland's AMBERIAN DAWN, is featured in a new interview with Brazil's SourceWebzine.com. An excerpt is available below.
Q: Can you tell us more about your new album called End Of Eden?
Seppälä: "I’m very satisfied with our new album. It has great songs on it and it was a really great to work again with all these excellent musicians and vocalists. Many people have said to me that this our best album so far. And I agree with that. We have several guests appearing on this album. Mr. Jens Johansson (STRATOVARIUS) himself is playing some keyboard solos on this album and even playing one keyboard-keyboard battle with me. This kind of solo battling is rare thing in metal genre. Usually these solo battles are played in forms like guitar-keyboard battle or guitar- guitar battle. We have also two guesting male vocalists on this album. Mr. Peter James Goodman who has appeared on all our previous albums, is doing a favor for us once again by appearing on this new album too. Then we have a very interesting male vocalist Mr. Markus Nieminen, who’s a professional opera singer making an appearance on this album too. He’s singing on one classical (!) piece. The album is taking the music of Amberian Dawn once again to a new level. I’m excited to hear what our fans are going to think about this new album."
Q: Can you speak to us about your musical evolution ? For you, what are the biggest differences between this new album and the previous?
Seppälä: "The music has indeed developed to a more pure AD sound. We have recorded our three albums in a relative short period of time, about one album per year. There’s a natural evolution going on and the music of AD is growing all the time. It’s been great to compose music to these fine musicians and vocalists who really can bring the best of out these songs. The music on this album is more diverse than on our previous albums. There are many different kind of songs. I think I dare to make more experimental stuff than before and I think this will continue in future also."
