ANGER AS ART - New Album Title Revealed
February 23, 2009, 15 years ago
Vocalist/guitarist Steve Gaines from Los Angeles-based thrashers ANGER AS ART has issued the following update:
"This is gonna be awesome. Two things happen when you compete against yourself and a former band that perhaps outshines whatever you do after that band. Ask anyone who has done it, right? Just ask OZZY OSBOURNE.Well, in this case I have the opportunity to do something few have done. On Saturday, April 18 2009, Anger As Art will be performing at The Black Castle in Los Angeles CA. For the first time, we will be performing songs from our new album (currently in studio) entitled Disfigure - which should be released summer 2009 on Old School Metal Records. Not only that, but (here's the cool part) we have the honor of supporting one of the original founding Thrash Bands - the one and only ABATTOIR... oh yeah, and I am still a member of that band. Abattoir has not played live since February 2003, and this will be the warm up show for what could be our last shows ever - in Europe (dates tba).
So, the question has been this - am I looking to 'kick my own ass' that night? LOL - yes and no! I have enough faith in Anger As Art to realize that we will certainly hold our own with a very demanding crowd - we always have whenever we have supported any other legendary bands. And Abattoir will have a run for the money, for sure. But remember... this is Abattoir we are talking about. Do not under-estimate them/us. If it was baseball, imagine it as a double header in the playoff race. It is the stuff kids (even old kids like myself) dream of - and I cannot wait for that night!
Anger As Art is looking to get back out on the road in late 2009 - looking at some European dates in fall, concentrating on America in winter and spring 2010... and then see what happens after that. Disfigure will be our first record to feature Dave Chedrick and Angelo Espino, and will certainly be a speed/thrash feast in the old school vein. More band info, contact www.osmrecords.net."
