ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian has issued the following update via his MySpace page:
"METAL SKOOL... Went to see them Monday night. They are still the best night out in LA. After 7 years they are still hilarious. Sully (Erna, GODSMACK) and I jammed 'Sweet Home Alabama' and 'Highway To Hell'. Awesome time. Can't wait to play with them with Pearl next Monday.Rock N Roll fantasy camp was a blast. There were some serious players and everyone seemed to be having fun. I wish I could've jammed with PAUL STANLEY when I was 16!! I hope to do it again in NYC.
Went to a place called The Bar on Sunset last night. The place used to be called the Ski Room. On the sign out front the i from Ski was missing and it said SkRoom. I went there in 1993 and it was the worst dive bar I'd ever seen. And not worst in a good way. Straight up toothless old lady hookers and junkies. Why did I go? Bukowski used to drink there and I wanted to check it out. I didn't even have a beer. I was afraid of the spitcrusted AIDS glasses they were using.
Anyway, cut to last night and now it's all renovated and a killer spot. I spoke to the owner and he told me that when they were tearing down the old Ski Room they had to wear gas masks as the place was toxic. Now they have a good jukebox."
