AVANTASIA / HDK vocalist Amanda Somerville, also known for her work with EPICA, has issued the following New Year messgae:
"Hello everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!Sending you all heartfelt wishes for an incredible new year! With it starting a new year going into a new decade with a blue moon and a partial lunar eclipse, I'd say that 2010 is starting out with quite a bang. Thank goodness, too, because I was sooooo ready for 2009 to hurry the heck up and be OVER. Friends of mine said they were having a 'Fuck You, 2009' party and thought that they'd serve the year the greatest insult they could think of and go to bed before midnight and not even say goodbye. At first, I was all down with that, but decided to go the route to celebrate the arrival of 2010. And it's a good thing I did because I would have otherwise missed out on my sister's party where the theme was 'The worst Christmas sweater you've ever gotten' and my brother in law was wearing a kilt. (see pic on left) Yeah, Baby!!!
So, whether you were looking back fondly on a great year going out or saying, "Thank GOODNESS!" I hope you had a fantastic time of it!
