Pictured is the cover art for BLACK STDONE CHERRY's brand new album, Folklore And Superstition, which will be released on August 19th via Roadrunner Records.
As previously reported, the Kentucky natives named their sophomore effort after a distinct tradition from their native region: folklore, story telling and superstitions.
“There is a mystique with folklore and superstition,” says drummer John Fred Young. “We’re intrigued by and interested in history, roots and heritage, and we incorporate that into the band.”Bassist Jon Lawhon concurs, “We are taking the Southern tradition and spreading it out to the rest of the world. They say, ‘Write what you know,’ so that’s what we’re doing, writing what we know.”
The band recorded the album at Black Bird Studios, which is owned and operated by country artist MARTINA McBRIDE, in Nashville, Tennessee. It was produced and mixed by veteran rock producer Bob Marlette (OZZY OSBOURNE, SALIVA, SEETHER, SHINEDOWN).
The tracklisting is as follows: 'Blind Man', 'Please Come In', 'Reverend Wrinkle', 'Soul Creek', 'Things My Father Said', 'The Bitter End', 'Long Sleeves', 'Peace Is Free', 'Devil's Queen', 'The Key', 'You', 'Sunrise', 'Ghost Of Floyd Collins'.
