BLACKGUARD - "We’re Going To Tour Until You Hate Us Even More!"
March 10, 2011, 13 years ago
BW&BK; scribe Carl Begai recently caught up with BLACKGUARD frontman Paul "Ablaze" Zinay to discuss the band's new album, Firefight. During the interview, Zinay commented on Blackguard's seemingly never-ending tour schedule, as they've been on the road constantly since the 2009 release of their official debut, Profugus Mortis:
“Whenever a new tour gets announced and we’re on it, people take their potshots at us online, sure. I was on the BW&BK; site a couple months ago, actually – the EPICA tour had been announced, followed by the SYMPHONY X tour – and people were so pissed. It was like, ‘What the fuck are they doing on this tour again?’ I responded and said, ‘You know what? We’re going to tour until you hate us even more! We have three more that aren’t even announced yet!’ (laughs).”Watch for the full interview, hitting the BW&BK; site this weekend.
Blackguard recently released the title track from their forthcoming album, Firefight, as a digital download. Check your favourite digital retailers or download the single at the bottom of the page.
Blackguard will release Firefight via Victory Records on March 29th. A new album teaser can be seen below:
Frontman Paul Ablaze recently commented on the band's forthcoming record: “This is going to be our most dynamic release to date. We’re going to have a few slower songs on this album; more head banging tunes. We’re also going to be introducing some new elements to our song to mix things up a bit. Not to sound too cliché but we definitely don’t want to write the same record over and over again and this record is going to be a great step forward for us."
As previously reported, Blackguard will be making their overseas debut as they hit the road for the Firefight Over Europe tour. The tour is set to span the UK, Belgium, Germany and the Czech Republic.
The band says, "After so many years, we are finally making it overseas for our debut European tour in support of Firefight. We cannot wait to see all the places, perform for the fans, and make our lasting mark in Europe. Once again, without the help from our label Victory Records and the team behind us, this would never have been possible. We’re coming!"
